Pet Sematary Bloodlines (2023)

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines (2023) is a prequel to the 2019 film Pet Sematary, which itself was based on Stephen King’s 1983 novel. Directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer, this horror movie delves into the origins of the eerie Pet Sematary and explores its dark history.

The story is set in 1969 and centers on a young Jud Crandall, played by Jackson White, long before he becomes the elderly man featured in the original Pet Sematary story.

Jud grows up in the small town of Ludlow, Maine, where he and his friends are drawn into a disturbing and supernatural series of events surrounding the mysterious cemetery near their town.

When Jud’s family and friends are touched by tragedy, the film reveals the dark and dangerous powers that lie within the land. As Jud and others in the town come to understand the twisted rituals that surround the Pet Sematary, they must face an ancient evil that has been lurking for generations.

The film mixes elements of supernatural horror with themes of grief and loss, much like the original King novel, but with a backstory that builds the mythology of the cursed burial ground.
