“Eight Below” (2006) is an adventure drama film directed by Frank Marshall and inspired by real events. The film stars Paul Walker, Jason Biggs, and Bruce Greenwood, and is based on the true story of a team of sled dogs stranded in Antarctica.
“Eight Below” follows a group of researchers and their team of sled dogs who are stranded in Antarctica after a severe storm hits. The story centers on the character of Jerry Shepard (Paul Walker), a guide and dog handler, who is part of a team conducting research in the icy wilderness.
When a life-threatening storm approaches, the team is forced to abandon their mission and return to base, but they must leave their eight sled dogs behind due to the dangerous conditions.
The film then shifts focus to the struggles of the dogs as they fight for survival in the harsh Antarctic environment.
As the days pass, Jerry and his team make desperate attempts to rescue their loyal companions, facing numerous challenges and obstacles in their quest to bring the dogs home.
