Total Recall (1990)
Just woke up on Mars (or did I?) with Total Recall (1990)! Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as construction worker Douglas Quaid, haunted by recurring dreams of a trip to Mars. Seeking a vacation from his mundane life, he signs up for a virtual reality memory implant of a Martian adventure. But things go awry, and Quaid ends up on a real (or is it?) trip to the red planet, unsure of what’s real and what’s implanted memory.
The action is intense and stylish, with shootouts, chases, and mind-bending special effects. Sharon Stone is a scene-stealer as Quaid’s wife, who might not be who she seems. The film cleverly plays with identity and reality, keeping you guessing until the explosive (literally) climax.
However, the plot can be convoluted at times, and the violence might be too much for some viewers. The ending is famously ambiguous, leaving room for interpretation (or maybe just a sequel).
Total Recall is a classic sci-fi action film with a mind-bending twist. It’s a must-watch for Arnold fans and anyone who enjoys a good dose of action with a healthy dose of confusion.
